Minimizing Downtime with UPS Rental Systems for Manufacturing
Global Power Supply (GPS) provided UPS rental systems to a manufacturing facility, ensuring minimal downtime during upgrades and repairs. The tailored UPS rental solution allowed the manufacturing processes to continue smoothly without significant interruptions. GPS’s prompt and efficient service ensured that the facility could maintain high operational efficiency even during critical upgrades. This case study demonstrates GPS’s ability to deliver reliable and effective power solutions that cater to the unique needs of the manufacturing industry.
Summer 2017 – Global Power Supply (GPS) was commissioned by Peroxychem to provide a customized long-term UPS rental solution. Specifically chosen for the project was an 80-160 kVA self-contained mobile UPS trailer, which was modified to meet the required specifications.
PeroxyChem is a global leader in peroxygen and adjacent chemistries. The company employs approximately 550 people throughout the world, with facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia. With an unyielding commitment to safety at its core and backed by an exceptional team, the company prides itself on exemplary customer service, product quality, reliability, and technical service.
Global Power Supply (GPS) was specifically chosen for this project because of its ability to provide self-contained mobile UPS systems, with cooling systems, UPS, battery cabinets, and controls all aboard an enclosed trailer, and available for rent nationwide. GPS’ mobile UPS systems have the advantage of being able to set up and operate from outside a building, so no inside space is required when upgrading or swapping out equipment. For this specific project, GPS deployed a UPS trailer which is software adjustable from 80 kVA to 160 kVA.
The breakers had to be modified to the client’s specifications, which was done in-house at GPS. After the breakers were modified, the UPS trailer was deployed to New York, and a Global Power Supply qualified technician was there to provide seamless set up of the equipment, which would then provide uninterruptible power to sensitive electrical and manufacturing equipment for nearly a year.
Through remote monitoring, GPS maintained a constant watch on the UPS equipment, and the entire project was completed successfully. GPS offers nationwide UPS rentals and sales from 3 kVA to 2400 kVA, and has the expertise to help with your next critical power project.
Global Power Supply was also pleased to be a partner with PQP on this project, “the trust, capabilities, and expertise of both companies resulted in the successful completion of this fast-track project,” said Global Power Supply’s Heather Carey.
Global Power Supply proactively maintains a large inventory of high-quality new and used backup power equipment, including UPS systems, diesel generators, natural gas generators, and automatic transfer switches (ATS) from top manufacturers like Cummins, MTU Onsite Energy, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Eaton, Hipower, and more.
